The Rivers State House of Assembly has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Governor Siminalayi Fubara, demanding the presentation of the 2025 budget. This decision was made during a plenary session held on Monday, March 3, 2025, under heightened security at the Assembly Quarters. Speaker Martin Amaewhule announced the notice for the session earlier that morning.
The Assembly’s insistence on the prompt submission of the budget underscores the importance of timely fiscal planning for the state’s development and governance. Governor Fubara’s compliance within the stipulated 48-hour period is anticipated to ensure the continuity of governmental operations and the implementation of planned projects for the year 2025.
