Parents and guardians in Taraba State are deeply concerned about the impact of rising fuel prices as schools reopen. The increase in fuel costs has led to higher transportation expenses, exacerbating financial pressures on households already burdened by the costs of food, school supplies, and fees.
Many families, particularly those with children attending distant schools, worry about managing these added expenses. Edit Clement, a mother of four, expressed fear that the combined effect of higher school fees and fuel prices might force some families to withdraw their children from school.
There are calls for government intervention to alleviate these pressures and support continued education for their children.
