Former Abia State Governor Orji Uzor Kalu has stated that his monthly earnings as a Senator amount to N14 million, which he claims is insufficient for his expenses.
In a recent interview, Kalu emphasized that this figure encompasses all costs, including salaries for staff and operational overheads.
He dismissed the perception that lawmakers live in luxury while the general populace suffers, arguing that the amount he receives barely covers basic travel and office maintenance costs.
This statement comes amid ongoing debates about the salaries of Nigerian lawmakers, with some suggesting they earn even more.
