… Said subsidy removal paved way for economy rebirth and infrastructural developments
The Provost, Federal College of Medical Laboratory Scientist Technology Jos Prof. Sunday Etukudoh has assured Nigerians that the reformed agenda of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu will alleviate hardship in the country and makes life easier as soon as possible.
The Provost and Chief Executive Officer, Federal College of Medical Laboratory Technology Sciences (FSMLTS), Jos, Prof. Sunday Etukudoh said President Ahmed Bola Tinubu reforms agenda is targeting at improving the quality of lives of Nigerians, not impoverishment.
Prof. Etukudoh said the college was hundred percent in support of fuel subsidy removal which paved the way for economy rebirth and infrastructural development in the country.
His position is coming against the backdrop of the fact that majority of Nigerians are lamenting the excruciating hardship occasion by fuel subsidy removal and harsh economic policies under Tinubu’s administration.
FCMLTS Provost made the assertion Wednesday while in audience with National Executive Committee of Non Academic Staff Union (NASU) of Educational Associations and Colleges who were at the citadel of learning,domicile at JUTH permanent site, Lamingo, Jos, for its first quarter meeting.
“We have escalate development aggressively at the college because coming from an uncommon state,We like living good footprint wherever we found ourselves in leadership position.
“Carrier development and progression is very apt in building economy of any Nation.When I took over the college leadership, the staff strength is nothing to ride home but today the number skyrocketed to almost 1,000. We anticipates more staff because there is a need for expansion,” Prof. Etukudoh mentioned.
He further intimated NASU officials that, NASU staff at the college are to retired from active service when their 65 years in consonant with the act passed by the National Assembly which guaranteed such.
Coming to other motivation that has to do with disparity in salary structure enjoy by the staff, Prof. Etukudoh assured of his cooperation and commitment noting that, “NASU lives cannot be justify with insurance but they should also have their benefits financially like the medical lab scientists and the scientific officers who are working.”
According to him, “It is expected that when demanding for something your hands should also be cleaned by helping a good government to succeed. NASU should accord the maximum cooperation to President Ahmed Tinubu administration to succeed.
“We support the removal of fuel subsidy. It is necessary because that was the only thing that is needed and it has sustained the economy and help the government to function effectively.
“Talking about National security, before now were hiding in Plateau state but now you can walk the street!The security situation is addressed taking into cognizant the appointment of young and vibrant service Chiefs.

“Here at the college we are for good governance as were leading by example knowing fully well that we’re representing the president and were working assiduously to see that his policies are understood and appreciated so that by 2027 his campaign for stabilization of Nigeria would not be difficult”, he concluded.
Earlier, Comrade Okebiotun, National Secretary Trade group council alongside other NASU executive revealed the purpose of their visit is because NASU is solely subdivided into 7 group councils, one of which is University Teaching and medical college council of which they belonged.
“We are here representing the council, and our regular and statutory meeting comes twice in a year, and this is the first of its kind in this year which were holding here today in Jos.And what were doing in the meeting is to X-ray what is happening in our society and our respective branches and discuss about them and proffer solutions where necessary.”
The union acknowledged receiving a positive reports on transformation from its branch at the college, challenged prof. Etukudoh and his management team to keep sustaining the trajectory.
