The Warri Refining and Petrochemicals Company (WRPC), with a capacity of 125,000 barrels per day, has officially commenced operations. Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), made the announcement during a facility tour on Monday. This milestone comes one month after the rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt refinery in Rivers State.
Kyari addressed the team during the tour, highlighting that while the plant is operational, it is not yet fully complete. He emphasized the significance of the achievement, challenging the notion that progress and real development are not possible in Nigeria. Kyari’s statement aims to demonstrate that such advancements are indeed achievable within the country.
