President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday met with members of the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 (PTF) at the State House, Abuja for briefing on measures to curb the spread of the second wave of Covid-19.
At the meeting, the end of the year report of the task force led by the secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF, Boss Mustapha was also presented to him.
The president noted that the nation cannot take chances nor bear the risk of losing what the administration has gained in the last nine months which witnessed its tough battle with the pandemic.
The President, therefore, extended the mandate of the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 until March 2021.
He also called for urgent measures to be taken to facilitate the arrival of the Covid-19 Vaccine so that it can be administered in a safe and timely manner; as recent reports have shown that Nigeria is experiencing a rise in confirmed COVID-19 cases, a situation that is similar to the second wave of infections recorded in other countries.
