The Abia State Police Command has issued a statement denying any involvement of its officers in a recent shooting incident that resulted in a civilian’s death near the Alaoji Flyover in Aba.
According to ASP Maureen Chinaka, the police were returning from an official assignment when they heard gunfire and took cover. Upon investigating the scene, they found that the shooting did not involve their personnel.
The statement urged the public to ignore previous misinformation that suggested a police exchange of fire with another group. The identity and motives of those responsible for the shooting remain unknown.
