The Department of State Services (DSS) has once again denied Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), access to his legal team. This was reported by Kanu’s lead counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, who emphasized that the DSS is disregarding a court ruling that mandates Kanu’s access to his lawyers.
Ejimakor condemned the DSS’s actions, stating that they would proceed with all previously suspended legal actions to enforce compliance. Kanu has been detained by the DSS since his rearrest in 2021, following an extraordinary rendition. In previous instances, the Abuja Federal High Court had even threatened to hold the DSS Director General in contempt for similar violations.
