Bandit leader Bello Turji reduce ransom demand from N50m to N30m for killing of Turji’s cows by a new army commander in Zamfara State

In Moriki town, Zurmi LGA, Zamfara State, bandit leader Bello Turji has reduced his ransom demand from N50 million to N30 million following negotiations. This sum is reportedly compensation for the killing of Turji’s cows by a new army commander.

Each family head is required to contribute N10,000, while unmarried adults must pay N2,000. Despite advice from the army commander not to pay, fearing further violence from Turji, villagers are proceeding with the payment.

Additionally, around fifteen local politicians and social activists remain in Turji’s captivity, taken from the village despite the presence of military personnel.
