A Group, Biafra Nations League, BNL, has commended the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu for taking a bold step into securing the lives and property of people of the Eastern region.
While commending the IPOB leader, the group warned against sending men of the newly-formed Eastern Security Network, ESN, into the battlefield with the dreaded Fulani herdsmen without arms.
Biafra Nations League, BNL, gave the warning on Wednesday in a statement signed by the National Leader of BNL, Princewill Chimezie Richard, the group said that the security outfit floated by the IPOB is a welcome development.
However, it warned that the intention of establishing the security outfit should not be to invade the Fulani herdsmen but for the protection of the Eastern States.
“There is nothing wrong with having a vigilante since the security group is not Biafran Army there is no cause for alarm,” adding that no one group can set up an army of a nation such as Biafra with different tribes.
“Nnamdi Kanu’s led IPOB [must] not send youths involved in the Eastern Security Network to confront armed Fulani herdsmen empty-handed,” he said.
Recall that the Eastern Security Network was launched on Saturday by the IPOB leader.
MNK said that ESN was not different from Miyetti Allah in the north and Amotekun in the Southwest, adding that the security network was launched to protect the Southeast from marauding Fulani herdsmen and other criminal elements.
