Cross river state journalist charge Gov. Otu to address insecurity under his administration.

Journalists in Cross River State have urged Governor Prince Bassey Otu to intensify efforts in addressing security concerns within the state.

This appeal was made through a communique signed by Ubon Ekanem and others following a meeting at their Secretariat in Calabar.

While acknowledging the governor’s achievements over the past year, the journalists highlighted a resurgence in criminal activities, particularly in the Idim Ita and Itonde communities in Calabar South.

They called for increased patrols by security agencies to combat issues such as kidnapping, rape, and robbery.

Additionally, the journalists brought attention to the prolonged power outage in Okoyong community, Odukpani Local Government, which has contributed to rising crime rates.

They also expressed concern over the economic hardships affecting residents, urging the government to consider implementing price control measures to mitigate the impact of high food prices.
