On Friday, it was confirmed that 20 medical students who were kidnapped in Benue State have been rescued.
The operation, coordinated by the National Security Adviser (NSA), involved the Nigerian police, the Department of State Services, and military personnel, with support from the Benue State government.
Helicopters were deployed earlier by the police in the rescue efforts. The students had been abducted on August 16 by gunmen.
