A High Court in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has issued a public summons for Yahaya Bello, the former governor of Kogi State, to appear in court on October 24 to face a 16-count charge related to alleged fraud amounting to N110.4 billion.
The order was made by Justice Maryanne Anenih following an application by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which stated it had been unable to serve Bello with the charges.
The court also instructed the EFCC to publish the summons in a widely circulated newspaper and to post copies at Bello’s last known address and on court premises. Bello’s absence had previously delayed the arraignment process.
