The 30 motorcycles donated to the Federal Capital Territory Police Command by FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, have been sent to rural areas, according to FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh.
The move, as disclosed in a statement on Tuesday, is part of efforts led by FCT Commissioner of Police, Benneth C. Igweh, to combat banditry and other security challenges in the territory.
Wike’s donation, aimed at enhancing security for FCT residents, emphasizes extending support beyond the city to remote areas where criminals seek refuge.
The motorcycles, painted in police colors, will facilitate rapid response to locations inaccessible to vehicles, ensuring efficient policing in communities.
The Commissioner of Police expressed gratitude to the Minister and pledged effective utilization of the equipment to safeguard FCT residents, as stated by the PPRO.
