Unknown gunmen have continued to hold sway along the Kaduna-Abuja Highway as about 16 indigenes of Dambatta Local Government Area of Kano State were allegedly killed by these hideous criminals as they were traveling along the Kaduna-Abuja route.
According to reports, the Toyota bus conveying them lost control when the gunmen shot the tyre of the bus conveying them from Abuja, back to Kano, forcing the bus to fell into a ditch and the travelers who were all male died.
The Chief Secretary to the Kano State governor Mr. Abba Anwar, while confirming the incident in a statement released on Thursday, said;
“We were shocked with the bad news of the death of 16 Dambatta indigenes on Abuja-Kaduna Highway, who were travelling from Abuja to Kano, as a result of an attack from unidentified gunmen.
“The news is devastating and frustrating. May Allah accept their martyrdom and may He punish all the perpetrators of this heinous act. There is nothing more shocking than this“.. Part of the statement reads.
The governor, therefore, prayed that Allah grants the families of the deceased the fortitude to bear the loss and receive the souls of the departed.
