Residents of Dokan Karji community in Kauru Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State have urgently called on the Federal Government and military authorities to intervene and stop the ongoing attacks by bandits.
The community, which has faced continuous abductions and killings, expressed deep concern over the lack of military presence, which they believe has emboldened the criminals.
In a statement from the Youth Leader, Aminu Khalid, it was revealed that over 50 people have been killed, and more than 170 individuals abducted since April.
The attacks have also forced many residents to flee, with significant financial costs incurred through ransom payments, exceeding N700 million. Despite these challenges, the community praised Lt. Col. Osuake of Sector 7 for his efforts to combat the bandits and appealed for further military support to restore peace and security.
