Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has shared a painful memory about the trauma his parents endured after the Nigerian Army’s 2017 attack on his home in Afaraukwu, Abia State.
He explained that the stress from the assault led to the deaths of his parents, Eze Israel Okwu Kanu and Lolo Ugoeze Sally Nmeme Okwu Kanu, five years ago. Kanu recalled how the Nigerian Army, during Operation Python Dance, attacked his residence in an attempt to kill him, although he managed to escape.
He emphasized that those responsible for his parents’ deaths remain unpunished, and the events surrounding their deaths continue to be misrepresented by those in power.
