Troops from the Nigerian Army’s 6 Division, in collaboration with other security agencies, have successfully deactivated multiple illegal oil refining sites in Bayelsa State. During the operations, they recovered two large metal tanks containing over 30,000 liters of stolen products, along with five boats and various drums filled with additional stolen oil.
The efforts were concentrated in Diebu Creek and other locations within the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, where several illegal sites were dismantled. Troops also identified illegal connections to the Agip pipeline, highlighting ongoing challenges with oil theft in the region.
