The Group CEO of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd (NNPC), Mele Kyari, has urged the military to continue their aggressive efforts against crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism.
He praised recent military actions for improving Nigeria’s crude oil production, which has reached its highest level in three years. Kyari made this appeal during a meeting with Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa, who was accompanied by senior military officers.
Kyari acknowledged the significant role of the military in protecting critical infrastructure, particularly in the Niger Delta, and expressed hope that this support would continue to address security challenges impacting oil production. In response, General Musa introduced a new Monitoring Team tasked with coordinating security efforts and promised to maintain and enhance military operations in collaboration with various stakeholders to boost production and economic prosperity.
