The management of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) has refuted reports claiming that a female student from the university was raped by a commercial motorcyclist.
According to the university’s Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Olanrewaju, no OAU student was involved in the incident described.
Olanrewaju clarified that the university has been on holiday for nearly a month, making it impossible for a student to have been picked up at the OAU main gate as claimed. The university has urged the public to disregard the false information.
