NSCDC recover two dead bodies from a pond in Jigawa state

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in Jigawa State reported the recovery of two bodies from a pond in Birninkudu Local Government Area. The victims, Abubakar Alhaji, 20, and Abubakar Abdullahi, 25, drowned on Monday while crossing the pond on their way to Waza village market.

NSCDC Divisional Officer, CSC Muhammad Garba, confirmed a distress call was received at 11:30 AM, and rescue operations, assisted by local residents, recovered the bodies within 48 minutes. The remains were taken to Waza health facility and subsequently handed over to the families for burial according to Islamic rites. NSCDC Commandant Mr. Muhammad Danjuma expressed condolences and advised parents to supervise their children closely during the rainy season to avoid such incidents.
