A truck with over 60 young men from northern Nigeria has been intercepted by the Ondo State Security Network Agency, popularly known as Amotekun Corps.
According to SaharaReporters, the truck which was stopped at Iju, in the Akure North Local Government Area of the state, was also loaded with rams and motorcycles, some of which were registered with Yoruba names.
The 63 young men, it was learned were coming from Gombe State and were heading for Lagos.
Subsequently, the men were taken to the headquarters of Amotekun in Akure, the state capital for profiling.
Speaking, the Commander of Amotekun Corps in the state, Adetunji Adeleye, said his officers discovered that apart from about 240 rams that were in the truck, it also contained 63 persons, 10 motorcycles registered with Yoruba names and 15 unregistered ones.
Adeleye said the apprehended persons would be required to provide proof of ownership for the unregistered motorcycles before being allowed to continue their journey.
