The police in Edo State have made arrests in connection with armed political thuggery ahead of today’s gubernatorial election.
During overnight operations, officers apprehended two suspects, Edwin Obanor, 43, and Audu Tajudeen, a 41-year-old member of the PDP. They also seized firearms, reinforcing their commitment to address illegal weapon possession and maintain electoral integrity.
Residents are set to vote today, September 21, 2024, to elect a new governor following the end of Governor Godwin Obaseki’s eight-year term.
