Shettima Muhammad officially assume office as 29th commissioner of police in Nasarawa state.

Shettima Jauro Muhammad has officially assumed office as the 29th Commissioner of Police in Nasarawa State, following the promotion of AIG Shehu Umar Nadada to Assistant Inspector General of Police. The announcement was made in a statement by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel.

A native of Mubi North in Adamawa State, CP Muhammad holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physical and Health Education from the University of Maiduguri. He joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police. Over the years, he has held various significant roles, including Acting Commissioner of Police in Nasarawa, Deputy Commissioner of Police at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia, and Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations in both Lokoja and Gombe State Command.

In his first address as Commissioner, CP Muhammad called for the collaboration of residents in Nasarawa to provide actionable intelligence, which he emphasized would help the police in effectively addressing crime in the state.
