Women involvement in pushing hard drugs is a major concern- immigration.

The involvement of women in drug addiction is a major concern, according to Hajiya Fatima, Deputy Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service.

At a recent sensitization workshop organized by the Zamfara State Substance Control and Human Trafficking Agency (SCHTA) in collaboration with the World Health Organization, Fatima expressed her alarm at the rising number of women affected by drug abuse and urged against self-medication.

The workshop, attended by over 200 stakeholders, highlighted the dangers of improper drug use. Pharmacist Mukhtar and other experts emphasized the risks of self-medication, while Hon. Adamu Gummi, Deputy Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, pledged legislative support to strengthen the agency’s efforts towards a drug-free society.

Pharmacist Ishaq Ibrahim Anka, Executive Secretary of SCHTA, mentioned that future plans include extending sensitization efforts to 17 emirates, 447 wards, and higher education institutions across the state.
