The leader of the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram Abubakar Shekau on Tuesday, disclosed the actual number of farmers killed was 78 and not 43.
Governor Babagana Zulum told journalists that 43 farmers were killed when Boko Haram attacked the farmers who were harvesting rice at Zabarmari community, in Jere Local Government Area of Borno State at the weekend.
But, in the video released on Tuesday, where Shekau boasted about the killing, the terrorist leader said they killed “at least 78 farmers”.
Shekau, in the video, warned those in the habit of sharing intelligence with the military on the activities of Boko Haram to desist from the act or they will face the same fate as the farmers.
Earlier on, NEWSIE EVENTS reported that Shekau had claimed responsibility for the killing, giving his reasons that the farmers were spying on them and passing information to the Nigerian army which led to arrests of their members.
