The University of Ibadan’s Faculty of Education recently held its second Dean’s Prize and Award Ceremony, celebrating 33 students and 7 lecturers for their exceptional achievements.
The event, which took place on Friday, was graced by notable figures including Vice Chancellor Professor Kayode Adebowale, former Vice Chancellor Professor Idowu Olayinka, and various deans and department heads. Professor Olufemi Adegbesan, the Dean of the Faculty, highlighted the purpose of the ceremony as a motivational effort for both students and faculty members.
Each of the 33 students, recognized for their outstanding performance across eleven programs, received N50,000 and a certificate. Additionally, awards were given to the top students in specific courses and seven lecturers for their exemplary contributions, with one lecturer being honored as the most outstanding.
Oyindasola Adams, a 400-level student in educational management, expressed her gratitude and encouraged her peers to strive for excellence, noting that hard work eventually leads to recognition and success.
