A’Ibom info officers jubilate ten-week training on public speaking.

On July 29, 2024, Batch 1 Information Officers (IOs) of the Ministry of Information celebrated their completion of a rigorous ten-week training program on “Upscaling Professionalism in Public Speaking.” The passing out presentations showcased their enhanced skills in moderating public and government events.

During the event, Honourable Commissioner for Information, Comrade Ini Ememobong, emphasized the importance of continuous learning and public speaking skills, both for current roles and future career prospects. He encouraged greater engagement with capacity development programs and highlighted the role of reading and research in intellectual growth.

Permanent Secretary Akparawa James Edet underscored the alignment of human capital development with Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda. He noted that future training programs would include evaluations to assess their impact and expressed gratitude to the Commissioner, facilitators Emem Uwem and Eunice Egharevba, and external assessor Mr. Ralph Edem.

Edet described the success of the event as a testament to the Ministry’s commitment to professional development and announced that Batch 2 IOs training would begin on August 11, 2024. Directors and Assistant Directors of the Ministry also attended the event, affirming their support for ongoing staff improvement.
