Mrs. Victoria Popoola Victoria Ngozi, headmistress Nasirudeen Community basic school oleyo has bowed out of meritorious service from Oyo State ministry of education.
Newsieevents reports that the retirement of the academic don was a double celebration as it coincided with her 60th birthday
In his word of exhortation the guest minister from Deeper Life Bible Church, urged the people to work and plan their lives to the glory of God.
Taking his word of exhortation from Psm 105:1-5, Psm 90: 9-12 and 2nd corinthians 6:2. Explained that life is unpredictable as one can die at anytime and therefore was appropriate and pertinent for one to live a life worthy of emulation.
The preacher mentioned reasons one should emulates Christ while living on earth, because each day is divine division of time given by God according to Genesis 1:15.
He said each day speak to us and family because of how short the day is, it is very important to live a righteous life.
The clergyman noted with humour said for the celebrants to survive all the struggle in civil service sighting instance from the recent cashless policies, signifies her strength and faith in God.
The minister of God while congratulating the celebrant for her successful retirement from the civil service and celebrating her 60th birthday, said she deserves to celebrate and appreciate God for His uncommon benevolence.
The minister of God stressed that not all that started with Mrs. Victoria Ngozi that lived to to see their retirement. He prayed for the celebrant for better days ahead as she bows out from government service.
Mrs. Popoola’s retirement celebration, which was held at His grace garden, Elebu Road off Alao Akala Road in Ibadan Oyo capital, attracted several dignitaries especially from ministry of education, deeper life bible church, friends, family, relatives and to graced the Red carpet celebration.
Also speaking the husband to the celebrant Engr. Popoola, a retired director from Oyo State ministry of Works congratulated his dear wife and commended her for her steadfastness in God.
Engr. Popoola, while commending his wife for cuddling the challenges of civil service and not putting the integrity of the family into moods, celebrate her 60th birthday especially for making the family proud.
When asked, his advise for his wife Engr. Popoola said, “my advise to her is to increase her service in the house of God, let her continue to serve God”
Also speaking Mrs. Grace Ayigbeyi described the celebrant as a God fearing woman, hard-working and a loving mother beyond her family
Mrs. Grace thank God for Mrs. Victoria Popoola for a successful year in service and celebrating her 60th birthday, she prayed the Lord will keep her strong for a more successful life after retirement.
Speaking also in the same vein Mrs. Adioye a retired principal described the celebrant as a prayerful and generous woman who has devoted all her time in serving the Lord together with the government.
The retired principal in her advise to the celebrant said “this is the time for her to settle with her husband, children and the entire family, travel for a visit to her children both in diaspora and Nigeria and continue to be very prayerful, remain consistent and persistent in serving the Lord”
In her farewell address from the public service, Mrs. Victoria Popoola expressed gratitude to God for enabling her to reach the peak of her career as headmistress in the public school, stating that “I have no regrets whatsoever being who I am today.` even though I have retired but I am not tired.
Her official retirement as she officially bowed out of service without any stain, this can only be God and I want to thank Oyo State government for giving me the opportunity to served.
She thanked the ministry of education for their hospitality and supports, urging them to extend same warmth to her successors and other of her colleagues who are still in the service.
In her brief profile, the chief celebrant Mrs. Victoria Popoola joined the teaching service of Oyo State in the 1991 as a teacher and upgraded to the position of headmistress.
She attended olona teachers training college onitcha olona and later proceeded to Osun State college of education ILA Orangun national teachers institute Kaduna where she bagged her B’ed in education.
Mrs. Popoola during her service year her taught in over 11 schools, this includes methodist primary school Lagunju, Crin staff school Adebayo idi Ayunre, ID primary school Oke Ona ikereku, Sts. Martin’s primary school Ara Oje, Sts. Michael primary school Odo Ona Nla, OLGC school Kolomi, progressive day school Odo Ona kekere, community basic school oyalami, Nasirudeen community basic school oleyo.
The seasoned educationist got promoted by the Oyo State government into headmistress cadre, the assignment she served till her retirement.
Highlights of the event were the cutting of the birthday/retirement cake and presentation of gifts from schools, friends and families.
