The management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has announced the indefinite closure of the institution, effective Monday, January 13, 2025. This decision follows growing protests by students over various issues, including the verification of National Diploma results from their previous schools.

The protests, according to reports, stemmed from dissatisfaction with the school’s management’s decision to conduct these verifications. In addition to the result verification, students are also protesting a rumored increase in tuition fees and delays in the mobilization of Higher National Diploma (HND) students for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

The school’s management released an official statement through its public relations officer, Yemi Ajibola, expressing concern for the safety of students and staff. The closure is meant to ensure peace and security on the campus. The statement also emphasized the institution’s commitment to a zero-tolerance policy regarding fake results and urged students to vacate the campus for their own safety.

Parents and the public have been reassured that updates will be provided as the situation develops.
