The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has voiced strong objections over the South-East’s exclusion from the first phase of NELFUND’s student loan disbursement.
The council argues that the reason given by NELFUND—that no South-East tertiary institutions met the criteria—is unjustifiable and reflects ongoing marginalization of the Igbo people.
They have called for immediate inclusion of South-East students in the loan scheme and urged local institutions to address any issues hindering their participation. The council warns that continued negligence could be seen as antagonistic to the region’s future.
