One of the Cardinal objective of education as spelt out in the National policy on education in (2004) revised, is to inculcate right type of values and attitudes for the survival of Education which is the bedrock of human development, especially for the younger generation and generations to come.
The policy of child rearing in academic excellence has been discovered at Pacesetter Group Schools as they storm Ibadan City to send forth their Graduands.
No one can underestimate the quality of Education being dished out to children and the high degree of discipline being inculcated in children at Pacesetter Group of Schools. What eyes have behold, the mouth speaks.
The level of harmony counting from the proprietor to the least staff like security or call it gate man and even to the students and pupils is enough demonstration of their responsibilities and readiness to crucify academic laziness in child upbringing.
With this intention, parents and teachers share the same views on their children’s desirable behavior and competitively ready to challenge their counterpart anywhere globally.
There is high hope that the very best will be seen in the society with the quality of product send forth on the 27th July, 2021.
As the name implies, ” Pacesetter” is truly the college that has set the pace. A pace where cases of truancy, lateness to school, cultism, drug abuse, insulting, assaulting, stealing, rioting and many other social vices are of zero tolerance, abolished and buried completely.
In light of all these, over 135 Graduands from this prestigious institution from primary 5, Js3, Basic 9 and SS3 has been sent forth in a valedictory service under the Chairmanship of Dr. Alhaji Adeniyi
The 2021 end of the year prize giving/ valedictory service which took place on Tuesday 27th July, 2021 at Bollards Event Center, Elewure Bus stop, Akala Expressway, Ibadan, Oyo State capital, brought together parents and guidance as they brainstorm to celebrate with their children during the graduation ceremony.
In her address, the proprietress, Mrs Felicia Olusegun Odutola expressed delight on the successful academic year and the performances of the graduating students and pupils.
Mrs Olusegun said the day was set aside to celebrate success and achievements, a day to see the best has been inculcated in their children.
She commended the efforts of the teachers and the entire staff of the college for their unreserved magnanimity and sacrifices to plant good seed that will germinate in the lives of the children.
Mrs Odutola, a retired vice principal called on the Graduands to continue in the pursuance of their academic goals, avoid social vices and be of good behavior. She equally thanked parents for their unfailing cooperation and called for more consolidation to encourage in the building the future of their children.
Also speaking the principal of the college Mrs. Oluwabunmi Borokinni while applauding the huge success of the Graduands, also beckons on them to represent the college well, be of good morals and be good ambassadors of this great citadel of learning.
Mrs Oluwabunmi Borokinni gave kudos to parents for selfless sacrifices, committment, persistent and consistency to making sure they give a manifesting future to their children. She prayed for wisdom, willingness, zeal and enablement on the graduating students and pupils.
In his remarks, the chaiman of the occasion Alhaji Adeniji called on parents to imbibe moral values in the lives of their children.
Dr Adeniji regretted that many parents have backslide from their core duty and responsibility of child raring, training and discipline, describing it as why in the society today, you see a child of 12/13 years smoking, some even count millions of naira and parents doesn’t care how they get to such an emergency level.
Dr. Adeniji who is the chief medical director, Ayo health center Ibadan, also frowned at some parents, who focus so much in chasing money, leaving their child upbringing responsibilities in tantrums.
He acknowledged the efforts of the college for setting high moral values and maintaining discipline which according to him, is the only way for a better society.
The CMD and Muslim faithful while congratulating the outgoing product of pacesetter Group of School, also urged them to continue imbibing in the good morals that has been planted in their lives.
He said ” Don’t deviate from the training that has been given to you in the number of years you have spent in the college, whenever you want to deviate, remember you are an ambassador of a prestigious institution and by so doing you can also correct your friends that were already misled”
Speaking with NEWSIE EVENTS correspondent after the ceremony, the Chaiman board of directors Pacesetters Group of School Pastor Olusegun Odutola, said the college will keep on pressing forward with the leading of the holy Spirit, adding that God’s guidance has been the sustainable development in the college.
He said the quality of children the college send forth is an encouragement that there is a better society tomorrow, because according to him, moral tenet has been given to them for the years they have spent in the institution and they should not give up because of the social vices roaming the society. There are still good product that is corruptible free and those are the ones we have send forth today and every other years of sending and even the ones to be sent next year, there is still hope for a better society.
The holiness preacher noted that the Pacesetters Group of School only engage with those with credible credentials, who are morally disciplined and godly oriented to anchor their children in the classroom. Therefore, the society should not expect less from our products, even in the university they are about to be admitted.
Pastor Olusegun, who is equally the general overseer, House of praise ministry international spoke on the decline of academic excellence, and felt sorry for the present generation due to the moral decadence which he attributed to absence of the fear of God. He apportioned blame on Government because the Government is only concerned about money but ignore the moral standard that should be given to a child, he said.
When asked about challenges, the man of God said ” there are a whole lots of challenges, I must be very honest with you.the taxation from the government is too much, we pay double taxation, the state and federal government respectively. There is no harmonization, a situation where you are face with double taxation is a serious issue and we are partners in progress with the Government and they’re lamenting the Education standard is falling, when there is no harmonization? “
He thank the parents for their total committment and called on the Graduands to be of good behavior, accessibility in character and godly in their conduct.
Interestingly, the valedictory service features procession of the Graduands, Yoruba cultural troupe, Nursery Rhymes, words of advice and special prayers for the Graduands by pastor Fatoye, Ewi .
Other performances include, poem by the college section, choreography by the primary and secondary section respectively, special dance by the college drama Group, lbile gospel by the primary section, presentation of Gifts to outstanding and graduating students and goodwill messages from the outgoing students.
