Many people have been lending their voices to the ongoing EndSars Protest that have rocked the entire country.
One of such persons is an APC chieftain in Delta, Joel-Onwakpo Thomas who has asked Nigerian youth to give government time to implement their demands before miscreants will hijack the protest and turn it into an ugly situation.
He stated that the continued protest of the youth on the street despite government’s willingness to listen to their concerns will give hoodlums a chance to operate in a way that will affect everyone.
The politician also reminded the protesters to use the Syria experience where a protest led to a civil war that lasted for more than 10 years as a lesson to take to heart.
He said:
“I wish to align myself with the urgent need for total reformation of Nigeria Police. EndSARS alone will not give the desired result.
An improved welfare package will be a step in the right direction.
“A word of caution. The president and civil societies should listen to each other. The stability of the country is very important.
Our democracy is under threat! We should not overstretch an issue if it is being handled. Remember this is how it all started in Syria.
“You have made your point, it is time to articulate your demands and sit down with the government to implement these before the essence of this struggle is abused.”
