Mr Noble Igwe, a blogger and entrepreneur has said that in the entertainment sector, drugs are equivalent to snacks, the Nation reports.
Igwe, whose statement came following the recent arrest of a skit maker, popularly known as De General , claimed that entertainers have easy access to drugs.
According to the 42-year-old founder of the 360 groups who, while reacting to the arrest of De General, took to the microblogging app and wrote, “Drugs are like finger food within Nigerian entertainment space.”
On Wednesday, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) said it arrested popular skit-maker, Sunday Joshua aka De General in Lagos.
Femi Babafemi, the spokesman of the agency, said the suspect allegedly admitted to ownership of illegal drugs recovered in his house.
Babafemi said the social media sensation was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday following the raid of a notorious drug joint at Orchid Estate, Lekki area of Lagos state.
Following his arrest, his colleagues and other celebrities weighed in on the matter.
Popular comic star, Basketmouth via his Instagram story to took a swipe at NDLEA for arresting someone with a pinch of marijuana.
“Don’t get me wrong, I’m not supporting the use of marijuana, I don’t do such. I’ll never do such a thing but what I’m saying is that you people are wasting taxpayers’ money to go and arrest someone with a small pinch of ‘Igbo’. You just wasted my money now.”
Rapper and radio host, N6 wrote: “skitmaker by day. Drug dealer by night. Now that’s some gangster sh!t.”
His comment elicited heated reactions among entertainers as they faulted him for making such a ‘controversial’ statement. While others queried the NDLEA’s operations.
