Reactions have continued to trail the calling off of a planned protest against SARS brutality of Nigerian Youths by Naira Marley.
The former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, on Tuesday, mocked popular singer, Naira Marley for calling off his planned protest.
Naira Marley via his twitter post cancelled a protest against the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, unit of the Nigeria Police Force, NPF after the Minister of Youths and Sports, Sunday Dare had appealed to the singer against embarking on the planned protest.
Following the appeal of the Minister, Marley had called off the protest.
However, Sani said Naira Marley decided not to be the “Moses” of Nigeria.
In a tweet, the former lawmaker wrote: “Marley hath taken the path of Tu face and Area father of not wanting to be ‘Moses’.
Also, Aisha Yesufu, the co-convener of BringBackOurGirls, BBOG, advocacy group, pointed out that protest was a veritable tool in effecting a change in a democratic dispensation.
Tweeting, she wrote: “Who is afraid of protest?
“The tools citizens have to effect change in a democracy are voting, protest. Nigerians have been made to believe both don’t count.”
Popular human rights activists, Deji Adeyanju, on his own part, said that Singer, Naira Marley is a coward for calling off the End SARS Protest that was scheduled to take place on Wednesday.
Reacting, Adeyanju in a tweet via his Twitter account on Tuesday said Naira Marley behaved like a coward.
He also said that Nigerians are not ready to break free from bad governance adding that a time will come when everyone will be forced to come out to protest within being forced to do so.
“Naira Marley, the coward cancels EndSARS Lagos protest.
“Not surprised at all. Only Nigerians can save themselves.
“Nigerians are not yet ready. When we are ready, we won’t need anyone to tell us to come out.
“It will happen suddenly, unannounced,” he said.
