Nigerian singer Portable has regained his freedom after being released from the Ilorin Correctional Centre on Tuesday at around 3:30 p.m. This came following a variation of his bail conditions and the withdrawal of the petition filed against him by Fuji musician Saheed Osupa.
Sources at the Oke-Kura custodial facility confirmed that Portable was released in the company of two of his wives. Before his release, he was seen with a clean shave, having removed his signature multi-coloured hair.
It was also gathered that the singer had his first proper meal on Tuesday morning, following his detention on Monday.
Portable was initially arrested in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Saturday and subsequently transferred to Ilorin by operatives of the Kwara State Police Command. He was accused of criminal intimidation, defamation, and issuing threats to the life of Saheed Osupa, who was also present in Ilorin for the case.
