Calls On FMoCDE To Look Into It
By Chinenye Festus:-
A Nigerian Man Identified as Kanayo with a twitter handle @MrKan_E has blasted the Nigerian Postal Service, NIPOST describing it as the biggest scam in the country.
Kanayo in a barrage of tweets a few days ago, seen by NEWSIE EVENTS, was very furious on the extent of criminality going on in that government parastatal.
Explaining what transpired in one of the tweets directed to the Federal Ministry of Communications & Digital Economy, he wondered why items that are as small as a letter should be charged about N1k while ones that weigh less than a kg amounts to N2k.
His Tweet reads; “@FMoCDENigeria there is a grand scam going on in nipost. Items are small as a letter is charged up to 1k. Items less than 1kg are charged up to 2k. Where is this money going? Who authorised this heinous crime on its people?”
In another tweet directed to Nigerian Postal Service, he questioned why after paying charges for the shipment one ordered, back in Nigeria, the person will still pay again more than the cost of the items bought.
“@NipostNgn how can someone finish paying for courier charges at the point of shipment then, in Nigeria, you still paying higher than the cost of the items bought. How can I buy Items worth 30k, less than 2kg, pay for delivery and nipost is charging me 10.500 again!”
He, therefore, called on the Federal Ministry of Communications & Digital Economy, headed by Dr. Isa Pantami, to direct Nigerian Postal Service to remove all the numbers on their page because none is functioning.
In his words, “@FMoCDENigeria first of all, pls tell @NipostNgn to remove all those numbers they put on their page as it never connects. I can bet my life that @NIPOSTNG is the biggest scam in Nigeria currently.
How can I receive a parcel that is less than 2kg and work less than 30k and @NipostNgn wants me to lay 10,000 Naira as Charges?
It’s not the first time or the tenth. Today, I had to tell them to take back the item. You guys are criminals.”
However, Mr. Kanayo absolved the presidency of much blame and put it squarely on governors, according to him, they are the ones in a better position to bring succor to the lives of people.
“I don’t really blame the presidency that much for underdevelopment in #Nigeria states as I strongly believe states have enough autonomy to better the lives of their people. Of more than 108 governors we’ve had since 1999, non have had sense.”
