Kano State Hisbah Board says it will invite parents of the 44th miss Nigeria over her illegal participation in the beauty pageant
Chairman of the Board, Sheikh Muhammad Harun Ibn-Sina, disclosed this in an interview with the BBC Hausa.
He said participation in the beauty pageant was against the teaching of Islam.
This is coming few days after a young Kano State girl, Shatu Garko, won the beauty pageant.
Ibn Sina explained that, the parents of the Miss Nigeria would be invited to be reminded of their responsibilities and Islamic injunctions.
“This will prevent her and other Muslims girls in the state from copying from her in future,” he said.
According to him, Islam directed women to cover themselves with their veils, and do not reveal their make up except for their husbands, parents or children.
“Based on this it is sinful for a girl as a believer to be part of this competition,” Hisba boss noted.
