The Advocacy for Disability Act Coalition (ADAC) has praised the Gombe State government for its progress on the proposed Gombe State Disability Protection Law and Disability Commission. In a statement, ADAC, which includes five Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), commended the recent public hearing as a crucial step toward creating inclusive legislation.
Grace Jerry, ADAC Cluster Anchor and Executive Director of the Inclusive Friends Association (IFA), expressed anticipation for the law’s enactment. She highlighted the importance of the bill for the over half a million Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Gombe State and lauded the Gombe State House of Assembly for prioritizing this legislation.
ADAC urged the State Assembly to maintain its commitment to people-oriented policies and continue working toward effective legislation that supports the disability community.
