Donald Trump on Tuesday fired the government’s top electoral security official who rejected his claim on fraud in the votes he lost to Joe Biden.
On Twitter, Trump announced the effective immediate termination of Chris Krebs who led the agency that declared the November 3rd election, the most secure in American history while rejecting impounding claims.
Trump has repeatedly claimed that the voting and count were with fraud with no evidence and has refused to acknowledge his loss for reelection to the Democrat’s Joe Biden.
Trump tweeted, “The recent statement by Chris Krebs on the security of the 2020 Election was highly inaccurate, in that there were massive improprieties and fraud,”
“Therefore, effective immediately, Chris Krebs has been terminated as Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.”
Krebs had reportedly said that he expected to be removed, confirmed it in a tweet:
“Honored to serve. We did it right.Defend Today, Secure Tomorrow,”he wrote.
