The Presidency has responded to a French court’s decision to seize three Nigerian presidential jets, which are part of the country’s official air fleet.
This seizure stems from a dispute between Zhongshan Fucheng Industrial Investment Co. Limited, a Chinese company, and the Ogun State Government over a $74.5 million award from an arbitral tribunal.
The Presidency argues that Zhongshan has used misleading tactics and has no valid claim against the Federal Government.
They emphasize that the jets are protected by diplomatic immunity and that efforts are being made to resolve the issue with Ogun State.
The Presidency also asserts that similar attempts to enforce the judgment have failed in other countries and accuses Zhongshan of attempting to defraud Nigeria.
