Abuja electricity distribution company explain rationale behind recent blackout.

By Divine Sam

The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has explained that the recent power outage in parts of Abuja is caused by a fault on the 132-kilovolt lines 182 from Katampe to the AT5 Central Area Transmission Station.

The affected areas include the Federal Secretariat, Wuse Zones 1-7, Central Mosque, Transcorp Hotel, Eagle Square, Maitama, and parts of Garki, among others.

While AEDC did not specify when power will be restored, it stated that the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) is investigating the issue and working to fix the outage.

Additionally, parts of Dawaki and Dutse Zone 7 have also experienced a prolonged blackout. AEDC had previously announced a two-week power disruption due to infrastructure relocation in parts of Abuja and Nasarawa State.
