Aisha Yesufu, Pastor Itua Ighodalo, Peter Obi, Afenifere leaders in EFCC notebook for misappropriation of funds in labour party.

The Labour Party’s National Working Committee has requested an investigation by the National Security Adviser (NSA) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) into alleged financial misconduct involving several individuals.

The accusations include misappropriation of campaign funds from the 2023 presidential campaign, with allegations directed at Aisha Yesufu, Pastor Itua Ighodalo, Peter Obi, and Afenifere leaders.

Labour Party’s National Publicity Secretary, Abayomi Arabambi, claims that over N12 billion and $15 million in donations were misused.

He also accused Yesufu and her associates of financial misconduct and called out Afenifere leaders for allegedly holding over N600 million in private accounts. Yesufu has denied these allegations, asserting that the funds in question were managed transparently and that Abure’s statements are false. Dr. Yunisa Tanko, National Coordinator of the Obedient Movement, has also dismissed the claims as unfounded, asserting that all campaign funds were accounted for.
