During a recent courtesy visit, Barr. Aniefiok Ibah, President of the Akwa Ibom Community in Abuja, officially endorsed Hon. Unyime Idem for the prestigious “Iconic Legislator of the Year Award.” This recognition will be presented at the Akwa Ibom Community Cultural Festival, scheduled for November 23, 2024, at Akwa Ibom House in Abuja, where Hon. Idem will serve as Special Guest of Honour.
Hon. Idem, representing the Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency, shared the news on his Facebook page, expressing gratitude for the honor. Barr. Ibah highlighted Idem’s outstanding contributions since joining the National Assembly, noting that he is the first recipient from the Annang extraction.
The community praised Idem for his efforts in facilitating employment for Akwa Ibom residents in the Federal Civil Service and supporting training initiatives abroad. They urged him to include the Abuja community in future programs.
In response, Hon. Idem thanked the community for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing opportunities for Akwa Ibomites, aiming to elevate their positions in federal employment over the next 10 to 15 years.
