Anglican church of Nigeria elect new bishops

The Anglican Church of Nigeria has elected new bishops for several dioceses during an Episcopal meeting held on August 12, 2024, in Abuja. The newly elected bishops are:

  • Enugu Diocese: Venerable Prof. Sam Ike
  • Jos Diocese: Venerable Ephraim Gongdem
  • Okigwe Diocese: Venerable Dr. John Obinali
  • Ijebu North Diocese: Venerable Dr. Godwin Odubena
  • Ahoada Diocese: Venerable Bernard Hanson
  • Wusasa Diocese: Venerable Titus Alkali
  • Osun North Diocese: Venerable Samuel O. Ifeyemi

In addition, four archbishops were elected for various provinces. The Primate, Most Rev. Dr. Henry Ndukuba, announced these elections and called for prayers and support for the newly elected leaders. Their consecration will take place on September 18, 2024, during a Standing Committee Meeting hosted by the Nike Diocese in Enugu State.
