…. Says you are no longer accessible to the people that voted for you
By Divine Sam
The Bishop of the Owo Anglican Diocese, Stephen Fagbemi, has criticized Timehin Adelegbe, the lawmaker representing the Owo/Ose federal constituency, accusing him of being inaccessible to his constituents.
Fagbemi stated that Adelegbe had not been reachable to the people who voted for him, and his phone number was no longer available. The bishop expressed frustration over this issue during a church program at the Cathedral Church of Saint Andrew in Owo, emphasizing the need for political leaders to remain accessible to their constituents.
He also praised Adelegbe’s colleague, Adegboyega Adefarati, for being committed and accessible to his own constituents.
In response, Adelegbe denied the allegations and accused the bishop of spreading hatred. Through his media aide, Olaniyi Eni-Olotu, the lawmaker expressed disappointment that such criticism came from a respected religious leader and argued that the bishop’s remarks were aimed at tarnishing his reputation.
He suggested that the church should promote messages of love, truth, and unity instead.
