The Arewa Youth Assembly has rejected calls from the Coalition of Northern Youths Organization for the dismissal of Engr. Farouk Ahmed, the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), following allegations of toxic fuel imports.
The Coalition had urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to remove Ahmed, citing concerns about substandard petroleum products being imported from Russia via Malta. The Arewa Youth Assembly, however, criticized the Coalition’s demands, accusing them of being unpatriotic and illegitimate.
They have called on President Tinubu to ignore the removal request and for security agencies to address what they view as a malicious attempt to tarnish Ahmed’s reputation.
