In a recent interview, Rabiu Kwankwaso, the National Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), strongly criticized Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2023 presidential candidate, accusing him of lying about reaching an agreement with Northern clerics and political leaders concerning the presidency.
Kwankwaso expressed his anger over Atiku’s claims, especially given his age of 80. He suggested that it was unbecoming of an elderly person to lie to respected figures, including clerics.
Kwankwaso emphasized that, being a key political figure, he would have been informed if such a meeting had taken place, adding that such lies undermine trust in leadership.
He warned that building a government on such falsehoods would result in a weak foundation, casting doubt on the ability of such leaders to serve effectively, especially in a one-term presidency.
