The life of Kannywood Nigerian actress, Rahama Sadau hangs in the balance following charges of blasphemy filed against her for ‘bringing insult’ on Islam’s prophet Muhammad, as she is allegedly facing death penalty once convicted.
According to reports earlier, the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has ordered the arrest and investigation of Kaduna born star, Rahama Sadau after a complaint was lodged with the police over a series of sexually explicit images of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The order for her arrest was Issued by the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed adamu after Alhaji Lawal Mohammed Gusau, a human rights activist, sent a letter to Inspector General of Police alleging that Rahama had insulted the prophet.
Recall that on Friday, November 6, the Northern filmmakers under the aegis of Motion Picture Practitioners Association of Nigeria, had suspended the 26 year old actress in a statement issued via its PRO, Al-Amin Chiromahe.
MOPPAN condemned the act by the actress, saying it resulted in blasphemous comments against Prophet Mohammad(SAW)
The photo of Sadau which she shared on social media is considered racy and she will now appear before a sharia court in Kaduna.
The actress’s case “is a matter relating to the Hadiths of the Prophet and the Glorious Holy Qur’an and not a matter relating to the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria” of which the punishment for blasphemy is “Death”, It was revealed.
