BREAKING: NLC threatens strike action on September 5

The Nigeria Labour Congress has fixed September 5, 2023, to proceed on a warning strike over what it described as unbearable suffering faced by Nigerians by the subsidy removal policy.

President of the NLC, Joe Ajaero, gave the threat on Friday after the National Executive Council union meeting.

Labour also berated the Federal Government for interfering in the affairs of the National Union of Road Transport Workers NURTW, saying it would do everything to resist such undue interference.

The union also accused the Imo state government of meddling in their affairs.

Kemi Filani recalls that NLC had declared a strike on August 2 but was suspended after 24 hours.
